Waza Flo continue winning ways by besting Syracuse 8-4
The Waza Flo were able to defeat the Silver Knights to remain undefeated at home Flint, MI. On Sunday, December 6th, the Waza Flo defeated the Syracuse Silver Knights 8-4 to improve to 4-3 on the season and 3-0 at the Dort Federal Credit Union Events Center.
The home team started off the scoring midway through the first as veteran defender Costea Decu slotted a shot out of the reach of Syracuse golakeeper Bryan O’Quinn. Their lead increased when first year Flo player Thiago Goncalves scored with just 10 seconds remaining in the opening frame to take a 2-0 lead into the 2nd quarter. Syracuse was able to get on the board late in the second after a penalty was called on Waza and Slavisa Ubiparipovic slotted home the ensuing penalty try to pull the Silver Knights within a goal heading into the halftime break.
Syracuse started the second half where they left off after Jerjer Gibson tied the game up and shortly after Bo Jelovac gave Syracuse the 3-2 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. The Waza Flo would not be outdone as Danny Dragoi scored just 14 seconds into the fourth to knot things back up at three. Ivan Campos and Leonardo added tallies just 31 seconds apart to give the Flo the 5-3 advantage. The teams then traded goals with Jake Schindler scoring for Syracuse and Ricardo Sobreira for Waza. The home side added two late goals against the 6th attacker from Sazh Bowman and Dragoi to win the bout 8-4.
